Rock Island Arts Festival

The Rock Island Arts Festival, hosted by the Chickasha Area Arts Council, will be held Friday, September 30th through Sunday Oct. 2nd at Chickasha's Historic Rock Island Railroad Depot in downtown Chickasha. Artisans from across the state will have paintings, sculpture, jewelry, drawings, and more for sale and local authors will have books for sale as well. Live bands and other entertainment will be held throughout the afternoon and evening Friday and Saturday and on Sunday afternoon. There will also be a wine and beer garden and food trucks will be on hand. Admission to the festival is free.

Into The Woods
Chickasha Community Theatre presents "Into The Woods" by Stephen Sondheim, September 23-25, and September 30 - October 2, at the Washita Theatre in downtown Chickasha.
The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results.

Junior Social Workers Spaghetti Day
Spaghetti Day is Friday, September 30th, at the Grady County Fairgrounds.
Serving times are 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Advance tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for kids 10 and under.
At the door tickets are $12 for adults and $7 for kids 10 and under.
Proceeds benefit local charities.
