USAO's Meet the Candidates series, sponsored by the Nita R. Giles Public Policy Program, continues on March 6 with Republican and Oklahoma Lt. Governor, Todd Lamb. Lamb will give a short presentation of his platform followed by a Q&A session with the audience. The event is free and the public is encouraged to attend.
The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma's newest art exhibit, "Prairie Moderns: The Artwork of Don Holladay," will open in the Nesbitt Gallery on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. A reception will be held in the gallery and is free and open to the public. Holladay focuses on figurative and non-objective images that convey isolation. His studio includes an etching press and many of his pieces originate from the printmaking process, which he sees as lending itself to solitary figures and uncluttered images. Holladay's works have appeared in solo and juried shows across the state, including MainSite Contemporary Gallery, Norman Depot, Norman Firehouse Art Center, The Goddard Center, Paseo Originals, Leslie Powell Gallery, IAO, USAO's Nesbitt Gallery, the University of Oklahoma's Lightwell Gallery among others. He serves as the Board Chairman of the Oklahoma Arts Institute Foundation and was named to the USAO Foundation's Board of Trustees last summer.
